Anxiety & Peace
When Anxiety Meets Prayer

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. — 1 Peter 5:7
Many of the people I sit with carry a quiet shame: they have prayed, and they are still anxious. They wonder whether their unease is evidence of thin faith. It is not. Anxiety is often the body's honest report of a life carrying more than it was built to carry.
In counselling we slow that report down. We name what the body is signalling, we trace where the fear first learned its shape, and we practise breathing that tells the nervous system it is safe. None of this competes with prayer. It gives prayer somewhere to land.
If you are praying and still afraid, keep praying — and let someone help you carry it. Grace is not diminished by a skilled companion on the road.
